Careers Profile: Inside the role - Assistant Store Manager

Paige has built a strong career at Baby Bunting over the past three years, growing from Retail Sales Assistant to Service Manager and now Assistant Store Manager. Passionate about leadership and customer experience, Paige thrives in a fast-paced store environment and loves making a real impact with both customers and team members every day.

Tell us about your role at Baby Bunting and what a typical day looks like for you.
As an Assistant Store Manager, my role is a mix of supporting the team and making sure the store runs smoothly. A typical day can look pretty different depending on what’s happening, but it usually involves leading the team on the floor, helping customers, supporting stock and presentation, and making sure everything’s running as it should. I like that no two days are the same - it keeps things interesting.

What do you enjoy most about working at Baby Bunting?
What I enjoy most about working at Baby Bunting is the purpose behind it. You’re helping people through such a big time in their lives, and it’s really rewarding to be part of that.
I also really value the team environment - everyone supports each other, and it makes coming to work enjoyable.

How has your role evolved since you joined, or what learning and development opportunities have you experienced?
Since starting, I’ve had the chance to grow through a few different roles, which has helped me build my skills and confidence along the way. Moving from team member to Service Manager and now Assistant Store Manager has given me great experience in leadership and team support. A lot of what I’ve learned has come from hands-on experience and being given the opportunity to step up.

What do you enjoy most about supporting new or expecting parents through your work?
I really enjoy helping new and expecting parents feel more confident, especially when they might be a bit overwhelmed. Being able to guide them, answer their questions, and make the experience easier is definitely one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

How would you describe the team you work with and the culture at Baby Bunting?
The team I work with is really supportive and easy to get along with. Everyone pitches in and helps each other out, especially when things get busy. It’s a positive environment, and I think that makes a big difference - both for the team and for the customers we’re looking after.
